Orange cloudy colour with golden-solar reflections. Sweet aroma of oranges and orange peel, peaches and vanilla. The palate is savoury, again with oranges, minerals and a little salt. The wine is quite dry. Medium body, good medium acidity, nice tannin. The aftertaste is orange peel with a faint mustard. Great aging potential, but great already. Have it with fatty fish or Spanish paella. The wine is the joint creation of two friends and excellent winemakers, Boris Novak and Uros Rojac, hence the name BORAC. The grapes for this wine were bought from 20 of the best winemakers in Slovenia and the wine was aged for 3 years in amphora.

Rojac

Rodina Rojac vyrábí tradiční a poctivé víno v přímořské oblasti Slovenská Istra již od 17. století. Současné vinařství založil zesnulý Bruno Rojac v roce 1994 na Istrii. Nyní je vede Brunův syn Uroš a pokračuje v kombinování tradičních a moderních postupů, a to jak ve vinařství, tak na vinicích.

This orange wine is a true wine and taste experience, taking you back in time and tasting wine as it was made in Slovenia centuries ago.

The taste is special because it is full of tannins and has bitterness. The grape skins were involved in the production of this wine and you can taste and smell them in the wine. A wonderful different wine that can only be recommended for tasting - because it is like no other traditional wine.

This orange wine is made from Malvasia grapes in the amphora, which are buried in the ground.

Summer in Istria is traditionally very hot. Since our ancestors did not have refrigerated cellars, they had to find other ways to keep the wine in good condition. One of these methods was maceration, which enriches the wine with tannins - tannins are natural preservatives - that protect the wine. We went back to this old method of making white wine and added our expertise by bringing the expression of our terroir into the glass. In this orange wine you will find everything from the soil, the sun and the grower - the winemaker - who wants to squeeze only the best and most energetic grapes into your glass. Borac is an example of a first-class collaboration between winemaker and farmer. Boris Novak of Domačija Novak and Uroš Rojac, whose names are also derived from the name Borac, have been working together for many years and have entered the market with this wine through a joint marketing effort.
